Chicken chettinad


Chicken-1 lb
Onion-1 Big
Tomatoes-2 medium
Fennel Seeds-1tsp
Mustard Seeds-1tsp
Pepper Powder-2tsp
Bay Leaf-1
Cinnamon stick-1 small
Coriander powder-2tsp
Jeera powder-1tsp
Turmeric-a pinch
Ginger garlic paste-2tsp
Red chilli powder-1/2tsp
Curry leaves-1 string
coriander leaves

Method of preparation

1)Wash the chicken and cut it in to small pieces.Add turmeric,salt,and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
2)Heat 2tsp of oil in a pan.When it is hot add mustard seeds,jeera when they start to splutter add cloves,cinnamon,Bay leaf,cardamon,fennel seeds,chopped onions,curry leaves and fry till the onions are light brown.
3)Add 2 tsp of ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
4)Add chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes are mashed and cooked well.Add coriander powder,jeera powder to the gravy.
5)Add the chicken pieces and cook it covered for 10 minutes.Dont add any water to the gravy let it cook with the juices oozing out from the chicken.
6)Check the spices.After chicken is well cooked add pepper powder to it.
7)Garnish with coriander leaves.
8)This goes well with rice and rotis.
