Paramannam,Garelu - My 100th post



PARAMANNAM

Ingredients

Rice- 1cup
Milk-2 cups
Jaggery/Bellam-3/4th cup
Cardamom powder-1tsp
Ghee-3tsp
Water-2cups

Method of Preparation

1)Take a deep & thick bottomed pan.Add rice and 2 cups of water.cook till rice is done.
2)Add jaggery,milk to it and cook on low for 10 more minutes.Stir it so that it dont stick to bottom of the pan.
3)Add ghee to it and turn off the heat.
4)You can add roasted cashews,raisins to it.I didnt.
->Cooking rice in milk directly will consume lot of time.

Ingredients

Urad dal-1cup
green chillies-3
Ginger -1 inch
Salt
jeera
Oil

Method of preparation

1)Soak urad dal for 4-5 hours.
2)Blend it along with ginger,green chillies,salt to thick batter with adding very little water.
3)Add jeera to the batter.
4)Make small ball from batter spread it on polythene sheet like vada and make a small hole in the middle of it.
5)Heat oil in a pan and drop them gently.Fry them till golden brown on both sides.
6)Serve it with coconut peanut chutney
->You can add chopped onion to the batter.I didnt.
