Mamidikaya pappu/Mango dal



Ingredients

Toor dal-1.5 cups
Raw Mango-1
Shallots -9
Green chillies-8(small)
Tomato-1
Turmeric-a pinch
Tamarind pulp-1tsp
water
Salt
Ghee-1tsp

For seasoning

Mustard seeds - 1tsp
Urad dal-1tsp
Chana dal-1tsp
Garlic pods-3
curry leaves

Method of preparation

1)Wash the toor dal and keep aside.
2)Peel the mango and cut it into small pieces.
3)Take a pressure cooker add toor dal,mangoes,chopped tomatoes,shallots,green chillies,turmeric,tamarind pulp,salt and 4 cups of water and cook till 3 whistles.
4)Heat a tsp of ghee in other pan and do the seasoning with mustard seeds,urad dal,chana dal,garlic pods,curry leaves.
5)Serve it hot with rice.
