Chicken kurma


Chicken-1 lb
Green chillies-3
Cinnamon stick-1 small
Coriander powder-1tsp
Garam masala-1tsp
Jeera powder-1tsp
coriander leaves
curd-1 cup
ginger garlic paste-1tsp

For marination

Turmeric-a pinch
Ginger garlic paste-1tsp
Red chilli powder-1tsp

To make paste

Poppy seeds-3tsp
Coconut-1/4 cup

Method of preparation

1)Wash the chicken and cut it in to small pieces.Add turmeric,red chilli powder,salt,1tsp ginger garlic paste and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
2)Take a pan fry poppy seeds without oil for a minute.
3)Blend the raw onion,poppyseeds,coconut and cashews in to a paste.
4)Heat 2tsp of oil in a pan.When it is hot add cloves,cinnamon,green chillies,onion paste and fry till the onions paste is light brown.
5)Add 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 more minute.Add the chicken pieces and cook it covered for 5 minutes.
6)Add coriander powder,jeera powder,garam masala powder,curd and cook it till the chicken is well cooked.
7)Garnish with coriander leaves.
8)This goes well with rice and rotis.
